Hannover and Stuttgart were unable to break the deadlock after 90 minutes at the curtain raiser of the 31st round of Bundesliga on Friday.

Stuttgart remain unbeaten at their fourth consecutive game but failed to earn vital points at their relegation battle. Meanwhile Hannover practically earned their berth for next season in the top flight, regarding their nine-point advantage to 16th placed Hamburg with three rounds to spare.

Both sides staged a fast paced encounter but Stuttgart worked out better opportunities. The "Swabians" had a goal called offside with just 16 minutes into the game when Cacau deflected Ibrahima Traore's effort from an offside position.

Hannover showed their first vital sign with beginning of the second half as Szabolcs Huszti pulled wide from sharp angle. However, Stuttgart took over and continued to create more chances before Cacau missed the target with his volley shot at the 53rd minute.

Hannover's Lars Stindl nearly punished Stuttgart's wastefulness but custodian Sven Ulreich saved his side one point. Stuttgart still have to fear relegation as they sit on 15th position with 32 points, five points clear of a relegation play off spot. Hannover jumped from 14th to 11th place for now.

The following fixtures are scheduled for Saturday: German record champions Bayern Munich see Werder Bremen, second placed Dortmund encounter fourth placed Leverkusen, Wolfsburg host Freiburg, Mainz face relegation threatened Nuremberg, Hoffenheim clash Frankfurt and Berlin meet bottom side Braunschweig.
