Spanish BBVA Primera Liga Champions Atletico Madrid are close to completing the signing of Malaga defender Jesus Gamez on Wednesday.

Twenty-nine-year-old Gamez moves to the Vicente Calderon after spending his entire career with Malaga, making his first team debut in the 2005/6 season after progressing through the club's youth system.

He will provide competition at right back for Spain international Juanfran Torres after Atletico after young defender Javier Manquillo travelled on England on Monday to seal a loan move to Liverpool, which was confirmed on Wednesday.

Last week saw Atletico agree a deal to bring in Argentinean defender Cristian Ansaldi on loan from Zenit St Petersburg, while the club also signed former Benfica left back.

Gamez has agreed a three year contract with Atletico Madrid and his departure will ease the wage bill at his current club and allow them to adapt to UEFA financial Fair-Play regulations which at the moment would prevent them from playing European competition.

Meanwhile midfielder Joshua Guilavogui looks to be on his way out of the club destination Wolfsburg after the German club's sporting director Klaus Allofs confirmed an agreement with Atletico Madrid to take the Frenchman to the Bundesleague.

"We have a principal of an agreement with Atletico and our objective is to bring him here as soon as possible," said Allofs of the player whose first season at the Vicente Calderon saw him fail to enter into the plans of Diego Pablo Simeone.
