Beijing Guoan are four points behind Guangzhou Evergrande with one game in hand.

Dejan Damjanovic's brace helped Beijing Guoan defeat Shanghai SIPG 2-0 and trim the gap on Super League leaders Guangzhou Evergrande to four points. The Montenegro forward opened the scoring in the 33rd minute and then doubled his tally 16 minutes from time as Beijing, who also still boast a game in hand on the pacesetters, picked up their third successive win.

Guangzhou R&F remain seven points behind Beijing in third spot after beating Hangzhou Greentown 3-1, although they needed to recover from a half-time deficit to claim the spoils. Gilberto Macena's 27th-minute strike put Hangzhou ahead but Lin Lu drew Guangzhou level in the 63rd minute and then two goals in three minutes from Moroccan international Abderrazak Hamdallah earned the visitors the win.

Shanghai Greenland Shenhua's last-minute equalizer provided some comfort for city fans as the three local Chinese Super League teams managed just one point between them in the 19th round held over the weekend.

Visiting Shenhua fell 0-2 behind to Henan Jianye after two-thirds of their game in Zhengzhou last night. Zhu Yifan and Huang Xiyang scored for the hosts in the 53rd and 61st minutes. Xu Liang cut the gap in the 87th for Shenhua on a direct free kick from 25 meters out, his shot curving over the wall of defenders to lodge in the right bottom corner of the net.

Argentina striker Lucas Viatri scored with a powerful header from a long Jiang Kun pass in the 94th to tie a thrilling game. Shenhua is now ninth in the 16-team league on 23 points.
