Liu Xiang, a Chinese Olympic gold medalist and world champion in 110m hurdles, is said to have registered for marriage on September 7, 2014, according to news spreading across the internet.
The photo circulating on microblog Sina Weibo, China's Twitter-like social media platform, shows that he left the marriage registry with a lady, who is said to be Ge Tian, a post-90s generation actress.
Early in the morning, Liu Xiang also released one of their intimate photos on his microblog, proving their romantic relationship for the first time in the public.
