Lasse Schöne wheels away after his sublime free-kick drew Ajax level in the 74th minute.

Paris Saint-Germain started the Champions League season in Group F with a 1-1 draw at Ajax in Amsterdam on Wednesday.

With former Ajax player Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who left Ajax for Juventus ten years ago, up front and two other former Ajax players, Maxwell and Gregory van der Wiel, in defense last season' s quarter-finalists Paris Saint-Germain were favorite to win this match. They showed their surplus of quality in the first half, but failed to dominate Ajax or create major chances.

A mistake by Ajax led to the opening goal in the 14th minute. Lucas Moura beat Boilesen, passed to Ibrahimovic, who' s shot was stopped by Ajax goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen. In the rebound Edinson Cavani scored.

In the second half PSG did have major chances to score more goals. The first chance was created by Ajax again. This time defender and captain Niklas Moisander gave the ball to Lucas, but the attempt of the Brazilian went wide. Ibrahimovic, Lucas again and Marquinhos also had possibilities, but failed to execute Ajax.

With one goal behind Ajax kept hope and sixteen minutes from time Lasse Schne produced the equalizer. The Danish international converted a free-kick, with PSG goalkeeper Salvatore Sirigu not looking good.

A few minutes later Schne took another free-kick and this time he hit the post. So finally PSG could be lucky with a point. Ajax could be lucky to end the match with eleven after substitute Anwar El Ghazi kicked opponent Maxwell. He received a yellow card for the offense.

In the same group FC Barcelona beat APOEL Nicosia 1-0. On September 30 Ajax play away against APOEL Nicosia and Paris Saint-Germain meet FC Barcelona in the next matches.
