Sui Weijie's blunder cost the the game for Chongqing Lifan.

Chinese Super League (CSL) side Chongqing Lifan could have won a game on Sunday but its goalkeeper missed a goal when he went away to drink water instead of keeping his eyes on the ball.

Liaoning Whowin tied a 1-1 draw with Chongqing Lifan in the 11th round on Sunday in this season of the 2015 Chinese Super League.

Newly-promoted team Chongqing Lifan could have won the game by Liu Yu's goal in the 34th minute. But the 84th minute saw Liaoning Whowin taking a free kick while Sui Weijie, the goalkeeper of Chongqing Lifan, was going away from the gate to drink water.

The low-class mistake made many fans of the team yell in anger or burst into tears on the scene. Some fans later demanded an apology and scolded Sui at Shenyang airport when the team was going back to Chongqing from Shenyang, Liaoning Province.

The Chongqing Lifan soccer club management fined Sui 50,000 yuan (US$8,060) for his mistake, the highest fine ever inside the team for this year so far. The mistake also cost the whole team 600,000 yuan (US$96,720) bonus award if they were supposed to get a win.

It is reported by Chongqing Morning Post that Sui has apologized at an internal meeting. He may be further suspended from future soccer matches but the soccer club management said they have not decided yet.
