The ongoing Beijing Week at the world exposition in Italy's Milan is also an occasion for promotion of Beijing's candidacy for 2022 Winter Olympic Games.

Image ambassadors are expected to introduce the theme song for Beijing's bid to host the Winter Olympics at the closing ceremony of the Beijing Week set on Wednesday.

The candidacy for 2022 Winter Olympic Games was part of the Beijing Week's activities as an opportunity for more and more people to get to know the progress of the bid, Xiong Jiuling, Chairwoman of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Beijing Sub-council (CCPIT Beijing), told Xinhua.

During five days of artistic performances, picture shows and video play, a large delegation from the Chinese capital is presenting to international visitors Beijing's agriculture, tourism, fashion and other industries.

The achievement of the International Horticultural Exposition 2019, which will be held in Beijing's Yanqing county in 2019, as well as the bid for 2022 Winter Olympic Games could not miss at the Beijing Week to mark the Chinese capital's international spirit.

"The entire population of Beijing has participated with great enthusiasm to the collective effort for the candidacy to host the 2022 Winter Olympic Games, and is fully prepared for the event," Xiong highlighted.

Sustainable development, economical Games and athletes-centered Games are the concepts pursued by Beijing's bid for the 2022 Winter Olympic Games.

On Monday, the International Olympic Committee (IOC)'s Evaluation Commission will release a comprehensive assessment report following their visits to Beijing and Almaty, Kazakhstan, earlier this year. Then the IOC will announce the host city on July 31 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

"I believe Beijing's candidacy is very strong, considering the expertise developed by China in hosting high-level international events," Stefano Gatti, General Manager Participants and Director General Pavilion of Italy at Expo Milano 2015, told Xinhua.

In his view, Beijing has the right climate and mountainous environment to host the Winter Olympic Games, as well as "all means to provide the infrastructural and transport systems that are the real challenge of such a big event."

Gatti highlighted the role of world expositions also as "world showcases" for international events and candidacies.

"Beijing is rightly promoting its bid for 2022 Winter Olympic Games at the Milan Expo," he told Xinhua. In particular Italian visitors can learn in this way much more about China's international vocation, he said.
