Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton has claimed the title at the Italian Grand Prix.

"Look at this crowd. Unbelievable fans here. I couldn't have done it without my team. I don't know if anyone can hear us but this team is just remarkable and what we have achieved here together is so special. So, I am incredibly grateful to them for working so hard through the weekend. Through these last week and through the whole year and giving me the car that I had today and these guys also did a great job."

Its his 7th win of the season and the 40th of his career.

Hamilton moves within one victory of Ayrton Senna and Sebastian Vettel on the all-time drivers victory list.

He's also the first driver to secure back-to-back wins at Monza since Damon Hill did it in 1993 and 94.

Sebastian Vettel finished second and Felipe Massa finished third.
