Twice Olympic champion Lin Dan was beaten in the Yonex Denmark Open badminton quarterfinals in central Denmark's Odense, on Friday.

No.6 seed Viktor Axelsen of Denmark scored an easy 21-8, 21-7 victory over third-seeded Lin in 36 minutes.

The Dane will in the semis take on top seed Chinese Chen Long, who knocked out unseeded Wei Nan of Hong Kong, China, in three sets 13-21, 21-13, 21-16.

Meanwhile, the men's singles saw seventh-seeded Chou Tien Chen, Chinese Taipei, beat fourth seed Japanese Kento Momota 21-19, 20-22, 21-15, in a marathon match lasting 85 minutes.

He will face the challenge from either home ground favorite second seed Jan Oe Jorgensen or Tommy Sugiarto of Indonesia.
