Sebastien Loeb continued his impressive Dakar Rally debut by winning Tuesday's third stage in northern Argentina.

The nine-time world rally champion finished the 190km section from Termas de Rio Hondo to Jujuy in two hours, nine minutes and 39 seconds in his Peugeot, ahead of Spain's Carlos Sainz and Qatar's Nasser Al-Attiyah.

It was the Frenchman's second consecutive stage victory, keeping up his perfect record in the event after the opening stage was canceled due to bad weather.

"It seems that the times will be very close between the drivers," Loeb said. "I pushed hard and I had a good stage with no mistakes. Everything is okay at the moment."

"For the moment, for sure, I'm enjoying it. It has been two good days for me. The car is going very well. I have a good feeling with the car. It's performing well so at the moment I'm enjoying it," the 41-year-old added.

In the motorcycle event, Spain's Joan Barreda Bort, took the stage honors ahead of fellow Honda riders Kevin Benavides of Argentina and Paulo Goncalves of Portugal.
