South Korean Go master Lee Sedol revealed that he will ask his daughter to learn from AlphaGo, Google's DeepMind artificial intelligence (AI) program.

"AlphaGo is very accurately designed, so I take a very positive attitude toward the AI program and will allow my daughter to learn from it," said the world champion, who was defeated by AlphaGo in a historic five-game match earlier this year.

During a session at the Annual Meetings of the New Champions in Tianjin on June 26, Lee confessed that he did not enjoy the experience of playing the game with the software and asserted that a future rematch is unlikely.

"I don't think I will play with AlphaGo again," said Lee, who lamented that there is no exchange of emotions when playing with a machine. "During the game, the level of pressure was out of my imagination and it was very difficult to play without feelings and emotions."

He attributed his loss to a lack of understanding to the booming AI field, which made him underestimate his rival.

Lee felt confident that he would defeat the AlphaGo after seeing its faceoff with Fan Hui, three-time European Go champion last year, but was shocked by the program's rapid improvement in a stretch of six months.

Looking back to the historic game, he felt he might have a chance to win in a rematch. "But who knows exactly the improvement of the software in the past months."
