Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has confirmed that forward Jese Rodriguez is in talks over a potential move to Paris Saint-Germain. |
Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane has confirmed Jese Rodriguez could join Paris Saint-Germain before the end of the transfer window but said the forward may return to Spain next summer.
"It's not a done deal, but it's well on the way. When we return to Madrid we'll know more about it," Zidane said in New Jersey on Tuesday, on the eve of Real's final US preseason friendly against Bayern Munich.
"They're a major club and I hope that if all goes well, he returns to Real Madrid, which is home for him. It may perhaps be for a year, after which he'll return home."
However, French media have reported PSG could look to sign the 23-year-old on a five-year deal in a transfer worth around 25 million euros (US$27.98 million), contrary to Zidane's wishes.
Last week, PSG coach Unai Emery indicated a pitch for Jese was "a possibility" as the French champion looks to draft in support for Edinson Cavani up front following Zlatan Ibrahimovic's move to Manchester United.
Meanwhile, Schalke 04 has signed Spanish right back Coke on a three-year deal from Europa League winner Sevilla.
The Bundesliga side says the 29-year-old Coke, whose full name is Jorge Andujar Moreno, will wear the No. 23 shirt.
Coke captained the side and scored twice as Sevilla rallied to defeat Liverpool 3-1 in the Europa League final in May.
The Madrid-born player began his career with Rayo Vallecano, gaining promotion to the second division in 2008, then La Liga in 2011, when he moved to Sevilla.
Also, Egypt winger Mohamed Salah has completed a permanent transfer from Chelsea to AS Roma after spending last season on loan at the Italian club.
Chelsea announced the departure of Salah yesterday as new coach Antonio Conte continues to reshape his squad less than two weeks ahead of the start of the Premier League season.
No financial details were disclosed about Salah's transfer.
Salah joined Chelsea from FC Basel in January 2014 and spent the second half of the 2014-15 season on loan at Fiorentina.
