China win 6 golds on 3rd day of Paralympics

Chinese cyclist Li Zhangyu clinched his second gold medal of the Rio Paralympics by beating Arnoud Nijhuis in the men's C1-2-3 1000m time trial.

Li clocked one minute 1:11.937 seconds to finish ahead of the Netherlands Nijhuis by 2.79 seconds. Canada's Tristen Chernove took bronze in 1:14.716

The 28-year-old, who was born with cerebral palsy, also grabbed gold in the men's C1 3000m individual pursuit on Friday.

China's Xu Qing claimed his third gold medal of the Rio Paralympics by winning the men's 50m freestyle S6 final.

The 23-year-old finished in 28.81 seconds to beat Colombia's Nelson Crispin Corzo by 0.46 seconds. China's Jia Hongguang took bronze in 29.87.

Xu, who lost both arms after a car crash when he was six, also secured gold medals here in the men's 50m butterfly S6 and the mixed 4x50m freestyle 20 points.

He has now won 10 gold medals at three editions of the Paralympic Games.
