Sprinting great Usain Bolt has arrived in Melbourne ahead of the Nitro Athletics series.

He will lead an international team of "All Stars" against four other teams representing China, England, New Zealand and Japan.

Bolt says he is looking forward to the competition.

"Something I've been looking forward to. I've been training, I've been getting ready so I'm excited, something different."

Bolt addressed the controversy surrounding the positive drug test of his teammate Nesta Carter, that saw the entire Jamaican 4x100 relay team stripped of their gold medals from the 2008 Olympics in Beijing.

"Initially disappointed, of course. But in life, things happen. I'm not sad... I'm just waiting to see what Nester's going to do, whether he's going to appeal."

The International Olympic Committee ordered Carter and his team mates including Bolt to return their medals.

Carter has already said he would appeal the decision to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
