China defeated South Korea 75-51 in the Women's Basketball Asian Cup on Saturday in India, taking third place of the tournament.

South Korea brought China to a struggle since the game started, while China's rising stars, Li Yueru and Huang Sijing, shined in a back-and-forth first period. Watched by former NBA star and China's basketball chief Yao Ming, China led the first quarter 20-19.

China had a 9-0 run including a three-pointer from Li Meng, enlarging its advantage to seven points in the first half. Although South Korea had been chasing fiercely in the the third period, Shen Yi and Li Yueru stopped their opponents from turning the table. Yueru then nailed a three-pointer to help China lead by 13 points with 10 minutes remaining.

South Korea sealed only two shots in the final two minutes.

Japan won the tournament following a 74-73 victory over Australia on Saturday.
