Wuhan to host first Women's Half Marathon

The first Wuhan Women's Half Marathon has attracted some 5,000 runners to the capital city of China's Hubei province, according to the organizers on Tuesday.

The event, to be held on Nov. 12 in Hanyang district, features a half marathon and a 5km health run, and 200 of them will have the opportunity to run the 2018 Wuhan Marathon, said the organizers.

The runners will start from the government building of Hanyang District and complete their race at Wuhan Qintai Grand Theater, running through scenic spots of Wuhan International Expo Center, Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge, Qingchuan Pavilion and Qingchuan Bridge.

According to the organizers, about 3,000 runners have registered for the half marathon and 2,000 will take part in the health run.
