Two names that most of us automatically associate with kungfu are “Shaolin” and “Wudang”.

They are, of course, two of the better-known martial arts schools. There is a third school – just as important but lesser-known – and that is Emei Kung Fu.

It is just as old as the other two, and its influence is just as widely felt. One of the most distinctive features of the Emei School of kung fu is its combination of dynamic and static exercises.

These are executed by absorbing both the dynamic Taoist qigong and the static qigong of Buddhist meditation.
