Russia beats Netherlands in water polo quarters

Olympic women's water polo champions the Netherlands suffered a quarterfinal loss to Russia at the world swimming championships on Monday.

Russia led 7-4 after three periods before rounding off a 9-7 victory.

Reigning world champions United States made it to the last four by beating Spain 9-6.

Canada and Greece are the other semifinalists after they beat Hungary 9-7 and Australia 4-3 respectively.
