China's ace shuttler Lin Dan defeated his Malaysian arch-rival Lee Chong Wei to claim the men's singles title of the Macao Open badminton championships on Sunday.

Lin, the world number two, defeated world number one Lee 21-18, 18-21, 21-18.

"It was a high-level draw and I would not regret even if I lost the match," said Lin, who restored his world number one position after the victory.

It was the third clash between the world top two men's singles players in July and Lin has improved his record against Lee to 2-1.
