2008 Olympics Press Kits Released

Press kits for accredited media organizations ahead of the 2008 Olympic Games are being distributed via National Olympic Committees (NOCs), the Beijing Organizing Committee (BOCOG) revealed on Thursday.

The kits, designed following International Olympic Committee (IOC) guidelines, include the Press by Number Accreditation Guide, Press Accommodation Guide, Press Rate Card, Media Freight and Shipping Guide, and Media Information II, a pamphlet providing detailed information on media services to be seen at the 2008 Games. 

"BOCOG has mailed the kits to over 200 NOCs worldwide for further distribution to accredited media organizations within the country/ region according to IOC-allocated accreditation quotas," said Sun Weijia, director of BOCOG's media operations department.

In accordance with the press kit requirements, the NOCs and media organizations are requested to abide by the following deadlines in returning the relevant forms and information to BOCOG: May 31, 2007 for "Intent to Rent" forms, booking private office space in the Main Press Center and Venue Media Centers; June 15, 2007 for completed Press by Number Accreditation Application Forms (by NOCs) and for guaranteed accommodation reservations; December 31, 2007 for Press Rate Card normal orders; and April 1, 2008 for press accommodation payments.
