Veteran shuttler Zhang Ning of China continued her winning run after storming to victory in Singapore with an excellent opener in another Super Series in Indonesia Wednesday evening.

The 32-year-old beat Yu Hirayama of Japan 21-13, 21-10 while on another court next to hers, compatriot Xie Xingfang overcame Malaysia's Wong Mew Choo with a hard fought 21-13, 24-22 win.

Xie wasted three match points against the battling Malaysian who rallied from 12-18 in the second game.

Wong is a tough player with solid defense. The second-game scores tell that she is not easy to beat, but I finally did, Xie told Xinhua after the match at the Bung Karno Indoor Stadium here.

Xie and Zhang, who met in Sunday's Singapore Super Series final, are currently the world's number one and two respectively and seeded on the same order in this tournament.
