Swiss Duo Dash Local Hopes Again

Swiss Isabelle Eusabeth Klara Forrer/Sarah Schmocker earned the second consecutive victory over Chinese players in the knockout round at the FIVB women's beach volleyball challenger on Friday.

The second-seeded team, who overcame Cao Na/Zhao Xiaolin from China, went on to beat Shen Rongrong/Guo Qian 21-15, 21-19 in the quarterfinals without having to rasing their game much above the ordinary.

Their reward will be a semifinal against Yue Yuan and Zhang Wenwen, who produced an impressive display on the soft sand to sweep aside Zhang Dan/Ma Yuanyuan in an all-Chinese match.

"We just couldn't take the bread out of their mouth, they are awesome in the match and never had slump in form," said Shen. "Those matches help us grow a lot."

China's top seeds Zhang Ying/Ji Linjun will be playing Thailand's third seeds Kamoltip Kulna/Yupa Puklongploy in the night session.

Title-lust Brazilians Angela Vieira/Danielle da Conceicao Cunha Vivian will take on Li Yang/Hu Anna from China.
