S Korea Leads Men's Team Top 4 at Olympic Archery Test

South Korea, Chinese Taipei, Malaysia and the US advanced to the last four of men's team at the "Good Luck Beijing" Olympic archery test event in Beijing on Wednesday.

 

On behalf of South Korea, Im Dong Hyun, Kim Yeon Chul and Lee Chang Hwan beat archers of Uzbekistan in 1/8 finals and defeated Polish archers in quarter-finals with 228-216 to reach the top four.

 

Chinese Taipei team was composed of Guo Chengwei, Liu Minghuang and Wang Chengbang. Though they ranked 13th in the preliminaries, they beat Australia who ranked fourth with 224-194 in 1/8 eliminations. Then they defeated Italy 220-211 in quarter-finals and got to the semifinals.

 

The Malaysian team has not so much advantages against its rivals but they beat them both. Firstly Malaysia beat China 218-214 in 1/ 8 eliminations and then defeated Russia 218-215 in 1/4 eliminations.

 

The US beat Ukraine to make the top eight. In 1/4 eliminations, US had a fierce competition with Japan and finally won by a whisker and got to the semifinals. Both team scored 214 points and US stood out in T29 against Japan's T27.
