Yao Ming scored 21 points and had eight rebounds to lead the Houston Rockets to a big victory over European league-champion Panathinaikos of Greece 107-70 in a preseason game at the Toyota Center on Thursday.

Panathinaikos has won four European league titles in the past eight years, but their frontline had no answer against the 7-foot-6 Yao.

 

Due to a sore knee, all-star forward Tracy McGrady did not play.

New Rockets Luis Scola and Mike James scored 17 and 14 points respectively, while Steve Francis added 11 points in 20 minutes.
