Chinese teenagers Chen Ruolin and Wang Xin took the limelight of the National Aquatic Center as they won the women's 10 meters synchronized platform crown at the "Good Luck Beijing" 16th FINA Diving World Cup in Beijing on Thursday.

"I am satisfied with my performance today," said the 16-year-old Chen, "We synchronized quite well. I will do my better to improve my techniques in the future."

In front of a full-house audience, Chen, winner of the event in the 2007 Melbourne world championships with Jia Tong, and Wang performed steadily and showed a class of their own by collecting 375.66 points.

Canadian Emilie Heymans and Marie-Eve Marleau, silver medalists in the event in Athens Olympic Games, posted 340.05 to take the silver.

"It is a great day for us," said Heymans. "We are very happy with the result."

Australia's Wu Melissa and Briony Cole, runners-up in the event in Melbourne, finished third at 334.80.

German pair Annett Gamm/Nora Subschinski, bronze medalist in both the Athens Olympic Games and the Melbourne worlds, finished fourth.

It is Chen's second gold at the World Cup. She just beat compatriot and world champion Wang Xin to claim the gold in the women's 10m platform event on Wednesday.

The World Cup, which runs from Feb. 19 to 25, serves as an Olympic qualifier and attracts 296 divers from 56 countries and regions.
