The 2007-2008 National Snowboard Halfpipe Championship kicked off at the Harbin Institute of Physical Education Ski Resort on Thursday.

Players from seven teams are participating in the group and individual games, competing for 10 gold medals, Web site northeast.cn reports.

In two matches held on Thursday, the opening day, skiers from Heilongjiang Snow Training Center and the Chinese People's Liberation Army won the gold medals.

The event will conclude on Sunday.
