Fifty Polish policemen will help their Austrian colleagues during this year's European soccer championship hosted by Austria and Switzerland, Austrian and Polish interior ministers Guenther Platter and Grzegorz Schetyna announced Monday in Warsaw.

Some of the Poles will help keep order during the championship games, part of the group will assist on border crossings, Polish news agency PAP quoted minister Schetyna as saying.

Schetyna said the Polish policemen would also keep a lookout for Polish football rowdies.

The 2008 European Soccer Championship will take place in Austria and Switzerland from June 7 to 29.
