The Chinese men paddlers swept to victory at the final of team competition by defeating Chinese Hong Kong 3-0 at the 2008 ITTF China Open on Saturday evening.

China, comprised of the world's top three Wang Hao, Ma Lin and Wang Liqin won the Hong Kong trio of Jiang Tianyi, Li Ching and Ko Lai Chak with overwhelming superiority.

World No.3 Wang Liqin made a perfect opening by blanking Jiang Tianyi 3-0, and Wang Hao continued the dominance by beating Hong Kong veteran Li Ching with another 3-0.

In the doubles, Wang Liqin and Ma Lin, who used to be partners for the doubles for years, downed Hong Kong's Li Ching and Ko Lai Chak 3-1 with great privities.

"After all there's a huge gap between the Hong Kong team and China. "said Chan Kong Wah, head coach of the Hong Kong team.

China's team coach Liu Guoliang expressed approval to the team's performance this evening. "We have achieved our goal at this tournament. We've seen our deficiencies as well as advantages."

The Chinese women's team also won the ITTF China Open title earlier Saturday evening by beating South Korea 3-0.
