Bayern's Italian star striker Luca Toni has now been ruled out for at least next two games, it was revealed on Friday.

It means the top scorer of last season's Bundesliga has to miss next week's visit to Italy for a UEFA encounter with his old club AC Firenze.

"The healing process hasn't been as quick as we initially hoped," said Bayern coach Juergen Klinsmann.

"Luca Toni will definitely be out for our next two games against Bielefeld and in Floorence," he added.

The club medical staff are giving him intensive treatment.

"We hope to have him back in the side soon," says Klinsmann.

Toni suffered a painful injury to his ribs and also tore a stomach muscle in his last game for the club on October18 in the team' s Bundesliga win over Karlsruhe.
