The world's top tennis elites, including the men's singles dominator Roger Federer and Serbian youngster Novak Djokovic, were wooed by Chinese fans when they strutted at the opening ceremony of the ATP Masters Cup 2008 on Saturday in Shanghai.

This will be the last time the event is held in the city as the season-ending championships that features the ATP's top eight single players and top eight pairs is planning a return to Europe next year.

Spaniard Rafael Nadal has earlier announced the withdrawal from this year's competitions due to injury.

The matches will kick off Sunday.
