All-in-all this is shaping up to be a great event. Another highlight of the day was a par round of 70 from the 14-year old Hong Kong amateur Jason Pak in his first-ever professional tournament. What a week it will be for this young man if he can go and make the cut tomorrow – at the moment he is bang on target to be the youngest player ever to achieve this feat on an Asian Tour event.

Shot of the day: An extraordinary effort from Oliver Wilson on the 16th. He completely fluffed his 160-yard approach shot from the light rough, and barely made it half-way to the hole. It was the kind of shot that the amateur knows only too well, but that you rarely ever see from guys at this level. Oliver was unable to save his par, but he took it in his stride and got the dropped shot back with a birdie at the last.
