Ning Hao, who rose to fame with his low-budget comedy, "Crazy Stone," returns with "Crazy Racer" and goes even crazier, proving that "Stone" was no accident. With outstanding performances by comedy stars, it weaves together four storylines involving racers, gangs, policemen, weapon dealers, drugs, love affairs, murder, karma and the butterfly effect. Costing only 10 million yuan (US$1.46 million) to make, it raked in 108 million yuan (US$15.8 million) at box offices. It pleased both critics and the public, but most importantly, it opened an alternative door for the film industry and comedy filmmakers.
