    Wang Jianlin

Donation: 1.283 billion yuan (US$197.4 million)

Wang Jianlin topped the Hurun Research Institute's China Property Rich List in 2010. He donated 1.283 billion yuan ($197.4 million), in cash to philanthropic causes in 2010, including one billion yuan for the restoration of a Buddhist monastery complex in Nanjing.Wang Jianlin is chairman of Dalian Wanda, a commercial property and chain store group based in northeastern China's Dalian. There are more than 30 "Wanda Plazas" across China.

Wang said his donation is out of respect toward traditional Chinese culture. However, some people didn't regard his act as charity and some others say the money should go to help the poor instead of rebuilding some historical site which no longer exists.
