Golden Bauhinia Square is an open area outside the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center on the Wan Chai waterfront. The square was named after the giant sculpture of the "Forever Blooming Bauhinia" (Golden Bauhinia) at the center of the area, which was a gift from the Chinese central government and commemorates the most significant occasion in Hong Kong's history, the return of the former British colony to the People's Republic of China, and the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) in 1997.

The Daily Flag Raising Ceremony takes places at the square every day except the 1st of each month from 7:50am to 8:03am, and the Enhanced Flag Raising Ceremony on the 1st of every month from 7:45am to 8:13am. Please be aware the flag raising ceremony may be cancelled due to bad weather conditions.

Travel tips:

How to get there:Wanchai MTR Exit A5. Walk along the crossover and about 10 minutes walk to Golden Bauhinia Square.
