Chips, ice cream, and barbecue are many people's favorite snack foods; unfortunately, a lot of these delicious foods are 'junk foods.' Junk foods tend to be ready-to-eat and convenient but also contain high levels of saturated fats, salt and sugar, with little or even no nutritional value. Frequent snackers are cautioned to indulge in these sinful treats only in moderation; overdoing it might lead to weight gain, cardiovascular disease, diabetes and other health problems.
Preserved fruits 果脯、话梅和蜜饯类食物
Preserved fruits are snacks loved by many people. However, they all contain nitrites, which can be converted to N-nitrosamine, a strong cancer-causing toxin, in humans. Other additives, such as preservatives and artificial flavors, may harm the liver and other organs. Finally, too much salt may increase burden on the kidneys and raise blood pressure.
