Honorary certificates issued by universities cover categories such as scholarship, Excellent Student of the Year, Outstanding College Graduate and Excellent Student Leader, among others. Many employers feel that such certificates reflect an applicant’s academic performance, social networking skills and organizing abilities.

The scholarship certification is very important, as it is a crucial decider when HRs screen applicants' resumes. It helps the human resource staff gain an understanding of the applicant beyond the GPA. Often, applicants without decent scholarship certification will not be invited to interviews.
