   Jiangyou Group 江右商帮

Jiangyou Group, also known as the Jiangxi Group, consists of merchants from Jiangxi Province. The local people had to sustain their lives through business as Jiangxi was a densely populated province with little available land. Originally from poor families, the Jiangxi merchants often started their business from small operations such as selling local crafts. They eventually developed a specialty in selling ceramics. The group's deep-rooted traditional mindset and petty-farmer consciousness influenced their capital investments, and often led to losses. Nevertheless, they made their fortunes with their integrity, scrupulousness, an unsophisticated style and flexibility in catering to the demands of different clients.
