The case in which Guo Meimei, who claimed to be the general manager of "Red Cross Commerce," flaunted her extravagant lifestyle online has severely tarnished the image of China's charity foundations and their lack of transparency has sparked nationwide outcry. Against this background, Forbes China released this year's China Charity Foundations Ranking in late November, largely based on the transparency of the charity foundations.
