Born in 1973, Stephenie Meyer is a best-selling U.S. novelist best-known for her vampire romance, the "Twilight" series. The four books of the series – "Twilight," "New Moon," "Eclipse" and "Breaking Dawn," center around the campus lives and love triangle between vampire Edward Cullen, werewolf Jacob Black and human girl Bella Swan. The saga, along with the four namesake feature film adaptations, has swept the world by storm.

In 2010, Forbes ranked this superstar of youth fictions as the 59th most powerful celebrity with annual earnings of US$40 million. The imaginative storyteller was ranked as the second bestselling author between 2001 and 2010, trailing only J.K. Rowling, according to a list compiled by the online retail giant Amazon.
