Born in October 1985, Feng Xiaoting started his professional soccer career as a center back with the Sichuan Guancheng in 2003, where he quickly established himself as a regular and became the youngest club captain in history of the Chinese professional league at the age of 17.

In 2005, Feng transferred to the Dalian Shide Football Club, and received offers from the Korea Professional Football League sides Chunnam Dragons, Jeju United F.C. and Daegu F.C. during the 2009 offseason. From Dec. 25, 2010, Feng began playing for the Guangzhou Evergrande.
