Li Xuerui, China's latest badminton star, received her late call-up to the upcoming London Olympics after surpassing her teammate Wang Shixian to be No. 3 on the Badminton World Federation (BWF) rankings on May 31.

Li held a stunning 30-match winning streak between February to June this year, claiming four individual titles, including German Open, All-England Open, Badminton Asia Championships and India Open. Li, reputedly a dark horse contender, is believed to possess the capability to move into the final stages.
