39-year-old Deng Yaping is now president of Goso.cn, a news search engine launched by People's Daily. The 150-cm-tall female table tennis player, who won four Olympic gold medals and 18 world championship titles, has created more miracles since her retirement in 1997. The table tennis queen, who only knows how to write the 26 English letters, enrolled at Tsinghua University as an English major. She then received a master's degree in contemporary Chinese studies from the University of Nottingham in England. Later in 2008, she earned her PhD in economics from Cambridge.
