Located in San Diego, California, it is a maritime museum comprising of the aircraft carrier Midway. The carrier was operational from 1945 to 1992, making it the longest-serving U.S. aircraft carrier of the 20th century. The museum opened to the public in 2004. Tourists can explore the carrier’s many facilities, including the flight deck, engine room, primary flight control, crew’s sleeping quarters and the captain's quarters.
