Top 10 ports by cargo throughput in China

Last year, cargo throughput at China's ports totaled 15.55 billion metric tons, up 6.8% year-on-year, according to data from the Ministry of Transport.

Ningbo Zhoushan Port in east China's Zhejiang province handled more than 1.22 billion metric tons of cargo in 2021, outranking every other port in the country. 

Tangshan Port in Hebei province came second, with its cargo throughput totaling 722.4 million metric tons. Meanwhile, Shanghai Port ranked third with a total cargo throughput of 698.27 million metric tons.
