Situated on Tiananmen Square in Beijing, the National Museum of China is the largest in China and one of the largest museums in the world. It is home to 1.4 million-plus artifacts and cultural relics, covering ancient and modern artifacts, rare and antiquarian books, and works of art from the Paleolithic Period (Old Stone Age).
