The Russian government said Monday it is planning to provide 21 billion rubles (320 million U.S. dollars) to enhance tourism infrastructure across the country for the next three years.

Moscow is ready to subsidize 24 investment projects for tourist cluster infrastructure in 22 regions inside the country, according to a statement published on the government's website.

According to the same statement, these projects will receive 83 million dollars this year, 76 million the next and 161 million in 2021.

The government subsidies will go to the construction of facilities like new hotels, camping areas and cafes, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev was quoted by TASS news agency as saying.

Regional authorities will also have to repair existing facilities, bring communications back to order and provide transport access to sights of interest for tourists, he said.
