China has issued a warning to its citizens traveling to Turkey, urging them to “be wary and pay attention to their personal safety." This is the second warning issued by the Chinese embassy in Turkey in one month as a response to Turkey's irresponsible claim of the alleged death of a Uygur man on Saturday.

Turkish Foreign Ministry spokesman Hami Aksoy said that Heyit, a Uygur male musician, died during his detention and cast the vocational programs as "torture and political brainwashing camps and prisons."

“He is still alive and in good health,” said Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying on Monday at a press conference, adding that Turkey's claim was groundless and ridiculous.

The Chinese embassy in Turkey released a statement earlier saying Heyit was arrested on suspicion of endangering national security.

The Chinese government has lodged serious representations to Turkey on this issue.
