More than 300 locals in northwestern Beijing's Yanqing district participated in the Florescent Fun Run/5K to mark the 11th Fitness Day of the country on the evening of Aug. 8.

Wearing glow items, the runners enjoy the summer evening with friends and family at the Yanqing Stadium. Yanqing's dance club performed and led the warm-up dance with the runners.

Besides running, local residents entertained themselves through square dancing, stilt walking and practicing Taiji (short for Tai ji quan, an internal Chinese martial art) on Yanqing Square.

Locals could also be amused by visiting nighttime beer garden near Yanqing Stadium or Kaisi Midnight Canteen, which feature snack booth and live entertainment. Customers can taste skewered meats, cold beer, and sea food while appreciating live music and magic performance.

As the host of Beijing International Horticultural Expo, Yanqing provides night tour of the expo where tourists can join music and gourmet festival dazzled with performance of rock'n'roll, jazz, blues and folk music.

Yanqing is becoming an attractive place to live and get entertained, as more and more sports and cultural events are being held here, said officials with the local cultural and tourism bureau.
