Shanghai Disney Resort is to implement new definitions for special pricing in order to bring preferable benefits to more children.

Starting on Oct. 8, 2019, a discount of approximately 25% will apply to all children aged three to 11, or with a height between 1.0 and 1.4 meters, visiting the park, the resort said in an announcement on Tuesday.

Children under the age of three or with a height of 1.0 meters and below will be admitted free.

The announcement also stipulated that guests under the age of 16 must be accompanied by someone of that age or older .

Former criteria only measured children by height, not age; the new rule allows application of either definition and is the first application of the expanded criteria at any Disney resort in the world.

Starting from Sept. 9, visitors can purchase tickets for admission to Shanghai Disneyland on or after the starting date of Oct. 8 under the new criteria, through Shanghai Disney Resort's official ticketing channels.

Also, from the latter date, children aged 11 and under will enjoy the child benefits available at the resort's two themed hotels, Shanghai Disneyland Hotel and Toy Story Hotel, as well as their meals at the resort's restaurants, Disney said.

The discount policy for senior visitors and those with disabilities remains unchanged.

The resort is also marking autumn as the Golden Season to visit Disneyland, a season of Chinese and international festivities and celebrations.

Its first-ever "Duffy's Heartfelt Moments" celebration is being held Sept. 2 - 30, while visitors will enjoy Halloween-themed activities and decorations, including a special Villain's Cavalcade led by Donald Duck beginning Oct. 2, culminating in the first-ever late night Halloween party on Oct. 31 featuring a new fireworks show.

Autumn also marks the return of annual events throughout Shanghai, its press release noted. On Sept. 14, Shanghai Disney Resort will once again be participating in the Shanghai Tourism Festival Opening Ceremony Parade with a brand-new float. While on Oct. 19-20, there will be the 2019 Autumn Disney Inspiration Run.
