2019 Beijing International Youth Tourism Festival concludes

The 2019 Beijing International Youth Tourism Festival held its closing ceremony in the Red Mansion Public Library on Sept. 19. Over 100 people, including international tourists and foreign students, attended the event.

More than 200 students, tourists and representatives from the media over 30 countries and regions, including France, Australia, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands, participated in the festival's activities over the past three months. Themed "Charming Beijing, Cultural Journey",  this year's festival included activities such as "Book-reading in Beijing", "Tour of Scenic Beijing" and "Experiencing Beijing customs".

Led by experienced cultural guides,participants visited renowned bookstores, celebrities' former residences, museums, art galleries and cultural performance venues in Beijing, and gained a better understanding of Beijing's unique cultural heritage. They also shared their experiences through two sharing sessions "Stories of me and Beijing" and"I Have a Date with a Museum".

During the festival, many young people also shared their stories and experiences of traveling in Beijing through the organizer's official Weibo account.

Yin Zhang Lønning, a student from Norway shared her experiences and how she felt about them at the closing ceremony. She said that the event deepened her understanding and love for Beijing culture and added that she would like to share these experiences with her relatives and friends.

Ten travel routes, designed with the perspectives of both Chinese and foreign youth, which take travelers to sites showcasing the best in cultural tourism, were unveiled at the closing ceremony. These routes have been designed to open a new window for tourists from all over the world to visit Beijing for its historical and cultural charms.
